Recently, Belden released the new Lumberg Automation M12 shielded railway connectors. One of the keys in providing reliable, uninterrupted networking for rail applications has always been the ability of the products to stand up to shock and vibration. These new M12 connectors are up to the task. Not only do they meet IEC61373 (shock and vibration) but also key railway standards EN 50155, and DIN CLC/TS 50467.
The connectors can be combined with either the Hirschmann OCTOPUS Industrial Ethernet switches or the GarrettCom 6KM Switches as well as Belden railway cables for cost-effective end-to-end solution. There are a variety of applications suitable for these connectors, including networking control modules for doors and air conditioning in trains. The shielded railway connectors can also be used in combination with IP cameras or infotainment systems.
Belden recently added new Gigabit Ethernet connectors to its Lumberg product range. What makes the new connectors so special? Special shielding on all of these Ethernet connectors ensures reliable data transmission even where strong electromagnetic fields exist. The connectors’ compact design with the special shielding covers the individual wire pairs to ensure dependable transmission.
