Olaf Schilperoort Olaf Schilperoort has been responsible for the product area Wireless at Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH since September 2006. He manages the BAT product line, now being manufactured in its third generation. His portfolio also covers antenna and accessories, as well as management and planning software relating to the wireless topic.
Olaf Schilperoort has been involved in the development of Wireless LAN for professional applications from the outset. As early as 1999, he led the development team, as project manager, for the first WLAN access point for ELSA AG.

After graduating from high school and training as an electronics technician for power equipment at OSRAM GmbH, he went on to study electrical engineering, specializing in communications engineering, at the RWTH and Aachen university of applied sciences. In November 2005, he successfully completed a supplementary course in "MBA Entrepreneurship" at the Aachen university of applied sciences.
Mr. Schilperoort began his career at ELSA AG, taking over product management and project management for Wireless LAN technology in the “Communication Systems” business area.
In 2003 Mr. Schilperoort took over product management of the wireless LAN portfolio at LANCOM Systems GmbH – the former "Communication Systems" business area of ELSA AG, spun off as an independent company in 2002. In addition to product responsibility and market-oriented product lifecycle management, Mr. Schilperoort played a key role in setting up the Industrial Ethernet business and developing an industrial-grade WLAN access point.
